It's time to step out of the box, take some risk, and create a quilt that gives you a sense of accomplishment. Last year customers made 23 quilts that not only graced the walls of Twin Cities Quilting but were also exhibited at the Minnesota Quilters Show and Conference. The exhibit was great and many quilters were inspired.
This year Minnesota Quilters has asked us back! Our quilts will once again be a special exhibit at this year's show and conference in St. Cloud. I consider this a great privilege and hope you as well are inspired by this honor. Keep up the good work ladies!
Are you ready! This years challenge is all about SOLIDS. This is truly an American tradition. Many communities have embraced quilting with solids. Weather you're inspired by Amish quilts, modern quilts, art quilts, or another genre, this year's challenge embraces all quilting communities.
Here are the Rules:
80% of your quilt must use solid fabric.
Solid fabrics include any manufacturers' solid line of fabric. Kona Cottons, the Bella line from Moda, StudioE's Peppered Solids are examples. Twin Cities Quilting is even expanding the definition to include Moda's Grunge fabric, Robert Kaufman's Quilters Linen, and hand dyed solid fabrics.
Your quilt must be made in 2014.
The perimeter of your quilt can be no smaller than 96". An example of this size is 24" square.
If you are using a pattern it must be noted in your description. If someone's work inspires you it should be mentioned in your description. A description, title, your name and phone must be noted on a separate sheet of paper when you turn in your quilt. A form will be available to download or pick up at Twin Cities Quilting that includes these topics. It will need to be filled out when you turn in your quilt.
You need to subscribe to the Twin Cities Quilting blog at twincitiesquilting.typepad.com. The blog is basically the same as the emails you now receive. You may choose to "remove from list" for the emails you now receive.
